Nothing like going to a concert to make you feel OLD

I love going out, but I have to be in the mood and just because I have plans, doesn’t mean I’m going to be in the mood.

We were kidless Saturday and as the day passed, I was excited to be getting dressed to go somewhere, but at the same time just wanted to curl up on the couch in my sweats and watch a movie with my hunny.

Nevertheless, we got dressed and headed to St. Augustine for the O.A.R + Cris Cab concert.  I didn’t get a photo of my outfit.  Why, I don’t know.  #fashionbloggerfail

This is what I wore though…

Going to a concert

It doesn’t look all that grand laid out like this, but just take my word for it, I looked cute.  😉

Once we got to the amphitheater, I was feeling the concert vibes and ready to have some fun.  We got there with 20 min to spare before the opening act took the stage.  It’s a small venue so getting to our seats didn’t take long.

We passed all kinds of people tailgating before the show and I thought it was odd.  I don’t go to a ton of concerts, but I didn’t remember tailgating to be commonplace.  Turns out, the tour is called the O.A.R. Tailgate Tour 2013.  Ha!  NOW it all makes sense.  lol.  And, although I think we were in the median age range of the concert goers, for the most part, it felt a little like we were at a frat party.

We usually like aisle seats (easy entry/exit), but it wasn’t necessarily the best choice for this concert.  Aren’t people supposed to just sit/stand and enjoy concerts?  Apparently you need to refill your beer every 5 min.  The aisle way was constantly full of people going up & down the stairs. Honestly, it was a little distracting and I took a mental note to NOT sit on the aisle next time.

Anywho, we were enjoying ourselves anyways.  Cris Cab was the opening act and he was awesome. He’s a young guy from Miami, FL and his music has a very chill, reggae, pop, hip-hop sound.

IMG_5806

Then it was time for O.A.R to come on stage.  The crowd was going nuts!  I knew a few of their songs, but my hubs was pretty well acquainted with their latest album.  They were super awesome live.  They interact with the crowd and have fun with their songs.

Awesome concert last night! #oartailgatetour #ofarevolution #staugustine

IMG_5808

Unfortunately the hubs had a massive headache so we dipped out early.  Which honestly, was okay by me.  I was definitely enjoying myself, but grabbing dinner and then going home, washing my face and crashing on the couch sounded just as good.

And that, my friends, is how you know you’re getting old. 😛

Gettin’ mah groove on

Happy Friday my party peoples!

I haven’t been doing so hot with my 30 day challenge this week (check in update on Monday) and after working out late in the day 2 days in a row, I decided I needed to get my workout in early today.

I was dreading it.  I’ve had a case of the “I don’t wanna’s” lately so today…

I should have run…

but treadmill dancing just sounded like so much more fun…

Treadmill dancing for my exercise today. Way more fun than running! ;)

7 days and counting…

monday-lets-do-this

Woot!  We made it through week 1!

Giving myself a virtual pat on the back because I…

  • drank 48-72oz of pure water per day
  • kept track of what I was putting in my mouth with the exception of Sunday (my free day).  They weren’t always good choices and I had several days this week that made me want to throw healthy eating out the window, but I did practice a little self control
  • made 3 dinners at home, only had breakfast out once (Sunday) and ate lunch at home several days
  • did some form of exercise every.single.day giving me a weekly total of 309 min of physical activity and 2,067 calories burned

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing.  That’s why we recommend it daily. –Zig Ziglar

Need to do better…

  • cleaning up my messes in the kitchen.  When it’s a mess already, it’s hard to get motivated to make it a bigger mess.
  • planning and sticking to it.  I plan out my days, but then I don’t follow the schedule and I end up cramming exercise in where I can and many daily chores fall through the cracks.

A few observations from the week…

going from not enough water to a good amount, flushed mucho toxins out via my pores.  On day 3 I started breaking out like crazy on my face and considering I had eaten pretty well at that point I was sure that it was all the water I was drinking.  People online say they’ve had the same reaction.

cooking dinner (and breakfast/lunch) creates a huge mess that seems to be never ending.  As soon as I make a dent, I create more mess and my sink is even fuller than it was!

Not eating out or pre-packaged foods makes it hard to count calories.  I’m not too focused on a specific caloric goal per day, but I am trying to be more cognizant of what is going in my mouth and making your own meals from scratch makes it take even longer to input your calories.  Thankfully myfitnesspal has a nifty little recipe calculator that helps ease my pain slightly.

Remember in my first post about the challenge, I mentioned I was going to use the Lift app.  Well, not having used it before and only hearing about it from my hubby, I mistakenly thought it was just a workout app.  It’s actually an app to help you create good, healthy/productive habits, break unhealthy habits or just anything you want to remember to do on a daily basis.  There are a tone of different goals you can “check-in” with every day such as, taking a vitamin, brushing your teeth (not sure who needs an app to remember that one, but whatevs), getting up on time, inbox zero, spend time with my kids, etc.  Other people can “like” your check-in’s and the app will tell you how long of a streak you have going each day.  If checking in and getting “props” for your check-in’s isn’t enough motivation, you could even promise yourself a reward when you hit a 30 day streak or if it’s something really challenging, a 7 day streak.  My hubs is currently on his 89th day of exercising every day.  On day 100, he’s going to celebrate with a work friend by going out to lunch!  How fun is that?!

Your turn!  Feel free to check in with your weekly accomplishments and what (if anything) you’d like to improve on.  You can comment, message me or just make a note to yourself.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, but be real.  Give yourself props for doing the things you did well and acknowledge what you fell short on, but then brush yourself off and get ready for week 2!

Edgar Allan Poe, Link & a maggot…

Ah, the night kiddos look forward to all month!  Dressing up and getting loads of candy…what’s not to like?

I never carved pumpkins as a kid so when we had kids, I thought that was a good time to start.  I was all about creating traditions that my kids could look back on.  We carved our first pumpkins in 2000 and we’ve done it every year since.  It’s evolved slightly and some years we’re not that in to it, but we’ve done it without fail for the last 13 yrs.  As well as trekking to the pumpkin patch and taking photos.  It’s a little harder as the kids have gotten older, but we manage to get ‘er done.  It’s so cool to think about how the kids have grown and gotten better at carving.  In the beginning they would just help clean out the guts, then they would do a few easy pokes, then they got their own pumpkin to clean, poke & cut (even though mommy & daddy ended up doing most of the work), and each year they would do more and more on their own.  This year we only helped scrape the pumpkins slightly to thin the wall out, but other than that, they both did 99% of the cleaning out and all of the poking and cutting!  They both went online to pick out their design and printed it out too!  So in the end, I helped tape it on and thin the wall a little, but other than that, I could focus on my own carving.  My girl chose Edgar Allan Poe and seriously nailed it!  I gotta step it up next year.  😉

Oh yeah, and remember the zombie flashmob I was doing a couple of weeks ago?  I did end up getting my contacts in time and even though they were a pain in the butt to wear (slightly agitating if you aren’t used to contacts), they were SOOOO worth it!  They totally completed the look.

Get it in gear, Katie!

Ugh. It’s October 24th and I have not put up one single Halloween decoration.

Actually, I take that back.

I was at Target yesterday and bought this cute light up pumpkin for the entryway.

2013-10-24_0001

I think I’ve mentioned before that I have a bit of a one tracked mind, so for 10 days of this month, I ate/slept/breathed zombie & dancing to get ready for the zombie flash mob.  Then I crashed for a couple of days and got caught up on housework and everything I let fall to the wayside while my focus was elsewhere.

I used to put a fair amount of decorations up, but over the years I got tired of the clutter so I cut it back until there wasn’t much of anything up.  Last year I dressed up the mantle and I loved it.  It wasn’t the most spectacular display, but I was happy with it.

Good news, I guess, is that the kids’ costumes are bought and pretty much complete except needing to get shoes for Caitlin.  So, other than decor for the house, I’m ready for Halloween!

Well…unless you count the need to go to the pumpkin patch for pumpkins that we are going to carve in 2 days.

Yep, just look up the definition for procrastinator and you’ll see a picture of me.  😛

At this point I don’t even know if it’s worth it to put up decorations, so I’ll just stick to admiring awesome decor online, like this…

And drooling over all the yummy/spooky/fun foods like this…

It’s my first time…

It all started with a decision to be in a zombie flash mob…

then, came the overwhelming obsession with everything zombie!

By the time I decided to participate, I only had about 10 days to learn the 8 min long routine.  After getting more than half of it down pretty well, I was able to start wrapping my head around how I was going to dress.  I mean, we’re going to be performing  in front of a large group.  I gotta be zombie’d up!

8070021914_4684579284how awesome are these undead nails?!

I was racking my brain on costumes and finally just decided on something that’s already in my closet.  I hate to buy something only to ruin it by ripping it and splattering it with blood.

Next, I started combing Pinterest looking for make-up ideas.  I want something simple, but effective.  I’m thinking more like Warm Bodies dead, not super gruesome-eyeball missing-dead.

nicholas-hoult-warm-bodiesphoto source

Then while I was at rehearsal over the weekend some of the ladies were talking about last year’s zombie flash mob and what they wore and someone mentioned colored contacts.  I immediately thought, “YES!  I need spooky contacts!”  That would totally stand out and make me look a little more freaky without having crazy make-up.

2013-10-14_0001photo sources  1 :: 2 ::  3

**Let’s just ignore the tiny fact that I’ve never worn contacts in my LIFE and I had less than week to get them ordered, delivered and learn how to put them in!  That’s not really important, right?  Nope, I didn’t think so either.

I was immediately on the hunt…researching where to buy them…what color I wanted…how to put them in…

until I got the smackdown…

In wanting to make sure that I get legit contacts that won’t scratch my cornea or ruin my eyesight or anything crazy like that (important stuff, yo), I found out that apparently it’s illegal to sell contacts without having a “prescription”, even for zero correction lenses.  Booo!  Not cool.  I’ve never been to an eye doctor.  Like ever!  I know, I’m 35 and I should have had an eye exam, but yeah, just haven’t made the time.  My vision has always been fine (even though my husband has been insisting for months that I needed to have it checked).  Sure I can’t read as well as I used to and the headlights at night on a dark road are kinda blurry, but I thought I was pretty normal for 35.  Nevertheless, I had planned on eventually getting an eye exam, but this whole “getting cool contacts for a costume” thing, was getting out of hand.  I mean, firstly, they are not cheap at around $30 for 1 lens.  Then add on super fast shipping, and NOW, an eye exam!  Oh, and apparently getting fitted for contacts is a whole separate fee from just getting an eye exam.  Ay yi yi!

I find out all the eye exam stuff first thing yesterday morning.  I debate it at first, but my amazing hubby who supports me in my crazy obsessions tells me just to do it because I need an exam anyway.  Next thing you know, I’m headed to the eye doctor!

Looking through the glasses at eye chartsource

My stomach is doing somersaults and my pits and palms are dripping with sweat.  I have no idea what they’re going to do, if it’s gonna hurt, or if I’m going to go through all this and end up not being able to get my cool contacts for whatever reason.  Then comes the paranoia….What if I actually need a prescription for glasses/contacts?  What if they tell me something horrible?

When I get called back to the room, I am babbling like an idiot to anyone who will listen.  Telling them my life story.   That’s what I do when I’m nervous, ramble and fill in the quietness.  Saying things like,

“this is my first time”

“I’m just trying to get cool contacts for Halloween”

“my husband has been harassing me for months to get my eyes checked. I think they’re fine!  But, I guess everyone says that, huh?”

The doc finally comes in after what seems like an eternity of me staring at the posters on the wall and looking at the scary eye contraptions.

photo 1 copy

I breeze through my letters tests.  Sweet, this is going well!  My palms are still sweaty, but I’m less anxious now.  Then the doctor tells me she’s going to put some drops in my eye to numb my eyeball.  What the what?!  “Numb my eyeball?!”  I’m looking at her like she’s about to pour acid in my eye and she’s explaining that it’s just drops and it won’t be bad.  Lady, I’m not worried about the drops, I’m worried about why my eyeball needs to be NUMB!  What the heck is she gonna do to me?  Turns out I was freaking out for no reason (as usual).  Whatever she did, didn’t hurt at all and since I wanted to be fitted for contacts she said she wasn’t going to dilate my pupils this time.  Woot!

Diagnosis: 20/20 vision with a very slight astigmatism in my right eye

20-20-vision-dogsource

Now it was time for my contacts fitting!  They sit with you, tell you how to put them in, how to take care of them, yada, yada, yada.  Then, they want you to put them in while they stare at you.  Awesome.  As if I wasn’t nervous enough about sticking something on my eyeball, but now someone is gonna be watching my every move.

Wellllll, not to brag or anything, but apparently…I’m a natural!  Oh yeah.  Nailed it!!  Got them puppies in on my first try.  Took one out (so she could make sure I did it right) and then put it back in.  Booyah!

photo 2 copyI was looking through the glasses while waiting for paperwork to get finished. Can you tell I have blue contacts on in this photo?

I came home and immediately ordered my zombie contacts.  Hopefully they ship today so I don’t have to stress about it, but I paid for 2-day shipping so even if they don’t ship until Wednesday, I should be golden!

Blog slacker…

Whoops.  I started to write a Five on Friday post today and realized that my last post was one of those.  Where the heck did the week go?!  I haven’t really been THAT busy, but just preoccupied I guess.

Last Friday was the start of me getting back on the workout wagon so my OOTD’s looked a little something like this…

2013-10-11_0001

While this is bad news for my OOTD posts and made me not feel like blogging…on the up side, I burned 2,262 calories this week!  😉

2013-10-11_0002

I also decided to join the worst kept secret zombie flash mob!  A Zumba instructor in town puts together a flash mob of sorts to perform at the Zombie Fitness Kids run.  This is their 3rd year doing it and I wanted to join in last year, but heard about it too late and honestly it’s a little out of my comfort zone.  I’m a bit of a commitment-phobe and it requires you to learn the dance mostly on your own.  And, of course, I don’t just want to join in at the end of the dance, I want to go all out and do the whole routine!  With less than 10 days to practice, I have my work cut out for me!  I love dancing though so I knew I would regret not joining in even though it requires a lot of work.  Not only do I have to learn the dance, but I also have to figure out zombie outfit/make-up.  Here’s last years flash mob…

So, I’ll admit to being a blog slacker, but I think I’ve been a fitness winner…this week!  Now, let’s see if I can keep up the fitness part and try to get some blogging done too.  :oP

I’m off to the gym!!!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

*insert witty title* :: ramblings

Can I tell y’all how happy I was to not have any kind of party or activity that needed my attention this week?!  I know it’s hump day and we’re already halfway to next weekend, but I had a pretty good weekend and first half of the week so imma gonna blab about that today.  :oP

The wedding festivities were fabulous, but I’ll get to that in a second.

My Monday wasn’t half bad considering it was a Monday.  I was exhausted from the weekend, but I was able to get some laundry done and focus on chores around the house, paid a few bills and most importantly…worked out!! I restarted C25K. I’ve been so bad lately about making time to do anything active. I give in to being a lazy bum waaaay too easily. Good news though…I had a lot too much sugar over the weekend which made me feel blah and reminded me of why I limit my sugar!  I really don’t limit it a ton, I just limit my candy, sweets & treats. I’ve noticed when I overdose on candy & sweets or even lattes, I start breaking out on my face.  I must say though, that in itself is a pretty good motivator to stay out of the sweets! I still have plenty of sugar daily via my Starbucks latte’s & my own homemade coffee, but my face let’s me know when I’m overdoing it.

Speaking of coffee, I ordered a new flavored coffee to make at home with a supah cool mason jar tumbler.  I’m excited about it. It arrived today so I’ll be sampling it soon! I’ll post my thoughts on it after I’ve tried it out. I’m a little picky with my drinks so I’m hoping that I like it.

2013-09-25_0002

Monday ended with my hubs telling me that when he got up at 3am to order his new iPhone 5s, he also ordered ME one!!  I didn’t know whether to be annoyed that he spent too much money or elated to be getting a present. I currently have an iPhone 5 so it’s not like I neeeeded an upgrade, but….it was very sweet of him to think of me and the deed is done annnnnd it arrived yesterday so I’m not annoyed anymore, just EXCITED!

photo 5-4

*Friendly reminder* Make sure to take off the protective film before trying to set up your fingerprint scanner. Why on earth would I think you need this tidbit of information you ask?  Well, it’s a funny story.  I was trying to scan my fingerprint and I kept lifting my thumb and putting it down over and over again, but nothing was happening.  I pushed a few buttons thinking it was the iPhone’s fault, then tried to scan one more time…again, nothing!  I started to get annoyed and then…realized that I never took the film cover off! Doh! Yes, folks, that really happened. I’m a dork and I’m not afraid to admit it.

hotcocoa

Tuesday started with a doctors appointment for my teenager, but then we got coffee (she got a hot chocolate), I dropped her at school and I headed to the mall!  I was on a mission. I really, really, like obsessively really, wanted some booties for Fall. I didn’t plan on spending hours at the mall, but you know how it is. I started at Dillards, found some Gianni Bini ones I really liked, but they didn’t have my size/color combo so I kept looking.  Went to Aldo, then Belk, stopped at Loft in between and found a good deal on some awesome burgundy slacks, then headed back to Dillards so they could call another one in town to see if they had my size.  The guy helping me said the computer was saying there was one in stock, but the salesperson on the phone was saying she couldn’t find it.  By this time it’s lunchtime and I’m starving, but I really wanted some booties so I headed to the other Dillards hoping that by me being there in person, the salesperson would magically find them!

It worked!  When I got over there she said she found them after she got off the phone and she’d held them for me!

Taaaadaaaaa!  Here they are!

2013-09-25_0003

They have cool buckles and they’re a dark olive/brown color and I lurve them!  I came home and tested them out with several jeans to make sure they were as versatile as I thought they would be. Now if mother nature would just get with the program and give us some cooler weather, I’d be in hog heaven. Well, I guess we’re technically having cooler weather, but 80’s isn’t necessarily the cooler I was hoping for!

Okay, back to the wedding….it was a whirlwind of a weekend and apparently when I’m busy, I don’t think about taking photos of my outfits! Actually I did take one, but it’s kinda awful so instead of posting it, I’m going to recreate my rehearsal outfit as well as the wedding one because…well, they were too good to ignore IMO.

I didn’t take photos of my clothes, but I did however take photos of the candy table that my sister and I put together.  I know it’s not the most spectacular candy table you’ve ever seen, but we were pretty proud of our first attempt.

DSC_9299-Edit-2DSC_9303-Edit-2 DSC_9302-Edit-2 DSC_9301-Edit-2

My mom ordered the flowers for the centerpiece which turned out to be awesome and make the table even better.

I really tried to sit back and let the paid photographer do his job so I didn’t take a ton of pics and most of the photos I took have faces in them that I can’t really share, but here’s one of my SIL’s gorgeous bouquet.

Mmkay, I think that’s all I have to verbally (is it still verbal if I typed it? oh-see-well-see, it is now!) spew to you on this glorious hump day.  Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow or Friday with my wedding outfits! I’m sure you’ll be waiting with bated breath or not, but maybe you’ll stop back by and check them out. Or, better yet, follow me on bloglovin’ or wordpress so you don’t miss the post! 🙂

iOS 7 & getting nude

My husband is fired from being my personal techy.

He could have reminded me earlier in the day yesterday to download the newest iOS for my iPhone, but noooo…instead I had to read about it on Facebook at 7:30 at night.  Facebook?!  He is seriously slacking.  Probably because that punk has had iOS 7 for months due to being a developer.  But that’s besides the point.  :oP

In case you aren’t aware, once people get off work, the download times inevitably become exponentially longer.  At almost 8pm eastern, my download time was ridiculous and probably wasn’t getting any better unless I waited until the middle of the night.  Which I contemplated….buuut…decided against it.  Like a good girl, I (im)patiently waited to update this morning.  After a not so smooth installation of iOS 7 (an error which led to a factory restore, but then thankfully led to a successful restore of my back up), I finally have it installed on my iPhone and it’s beautiful!  I haven’t played with it too much, but two things that jumped out at me right away was the dynamic movement wallpapers and the photos separated by dates.  The photo thing is going to be uber helpful with my Project 365.  Many times I take a photo for the day, but get behind on keeping them organized so it’s going to be so much easier to keep up now.
*On a side note: I may have re-hire my tech consultant since he reminded me at 6:45 to start my download this morning.  Thanks hubby!*

I made a gif showing a little bit of how the moving wallpaper looks.  I know, I’m easily impressed, but it’s cool, no?  If I watch this gif too long though it’s going to give me motion sickness! The real version is less subtle.

And now to get nekkie!

With my nails of course!  Sheesh. What did you think I was talking about?!

2013-09-19_0002

I mentioned in my last post that my brothers wedding is coming up this weekend. I have been planning my outfit for weeks, down to the colors I’m wearing on my fingers & toenails. Since neutrals started getting popular I have really wanted to try a nude nail, but when I go to the store, I always get overwhelmed with all of the options and end up leaving with either nothing or a non-neutral color.  Well, since I really wanted to wear a nude color and I’m a dork…I did some online research.  Because as we all know, sometimes the look of a polish in the bottle, isn’t necessarily what the polish is going to look like on your nails.  Most of the time I don’t have a problem, but my experience with lighter colors is that they have a tendency of being too sheer and I want an opaque one.  I don’t like it when you polish your nails, but you can still see the whites.  If I wanted that, I’d just wear a clear polish!  Anywho, there are some really awesome bloggers out there who do all the footwork for you and even have photos with reviews!

In my search I came up with OPI’s Samoan Sands and Essie’s Sand Tropez.  (See them both here. I really liked Pretzel My Buttons too!) I bought OPI first, but then thought I wanted a cooler neutral so I bought the Essie one.  I put them both on and put them next to the dress.  Samoan Sands looked better with the dress, but it was a little too sheer for my liking. Where as I liked the opacity of Essie’s Sand Tropez, but it was too cool for the dress.  I contemplated buying more neutrals, but instead turned my attention to finding a base coat that would hopefully solve my problem.  Again, like a dork, I turned to Google. This time I came up with Seche ridge filling base coat and Butter London Nail Foundation.  I tweeted after I left Ulta that night that people who work at a make-up store should have a little knowledge of their products.  I said this because the Ulta girl was completely clueless.  She was all, “well, the Seche is a big seller and people like it” (um, well, that’s a no brainer since it’s one of the cheapest polishes in the store!)  Then when I asked her about the Butter London one she said, “I don’t use it, but it’s supposed to be a really good one. We don’t sell a lot of it though.” Again..duh! Probably because it’s one of the most expensive polishes in the store! *insert eyeroll* And I didn’t just ask her about nail polish.  She wasn’t helpful with my eyeshadow questions either. If Ulta wasn’t so close and Sephora so far away, I wouldn’t go there at all, but occasionally I need a product that they carry.  If I had the time though, I would always choose Sephora. Their employees are always super helpful and most of the time knowledgeable or at least they pretend to be!

K, sorry, got a bit sidetracked…back to my polish!  Here are the side by side comparison’s (please excuse my scaly hands & crappy cuticles).

2013-09-19_0001(click pic to see larger)

The left thumb has Butter London underneath and the right thumb has the Seche base coat.  Not sure if you can tell in the photo, but Butter London was the clear winner for me.  It’s got a nice color to the base coat and it did what I wanted it to do, which is make the polish more opaque.  It went on smooth and without streaks.  This isn’t to say that the Seche one isn’t good. I really love the pearlescent color of the Seche, but it made the color of the polish not as warm and it was a little streaky, which wasn’t what I wanted.  I think under a more opaque color, the Seche would be great.

what’s on my current playlist and other randoms…

I was only going to post some recent songs that have been on repeat on my iPod lately, but then I had other randomness floating through my head and thought what the heck, let’s just throw it all in one big mashed up randomness post.

Currently listening to…

  • Olly Murs, “Dance with Me Tonight” :: I’m kind of in love with this song.  I love to dance, so any song that makes me want to get up and dance is destined to become a playlist favorite!  Car dancing is almost not even good enough for this song.  I want to stop the car, jump out and start dancing in the middle of the street.  But, then I worry about getting arrested b/c I look like a crazy person or more importantly, getting run over and that wouldn’t be good so I stick to car dancing.  For your listening pleasure, I included the video so you can chair dance at your desk or even better, just get up and bust a move next to your desk.  If this song doesn’t make you at least tap your foot…I just…don’t even know what to do with you.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3EG4olrFjY&w=560&h=315]

  • Lady Gaga, “Applause”
  • Lana Del Ray, “Summertime Sadness”
  • Katy Perry, “Roar”
  • JT & Jay-Z, “Holy Grail” :: I didn’t love this song at first, but it’s slowly grown on me and now I like it a lot.

Currently lusting after…

  • these boots from Target.  They are too high or they would have been mine already!  I love everything about them, except they like 1/2″ too tall.  Curse you Sam & Libby!  🙁

    • leopard shoes :: I *need* some.  Part of me wants flats because I don’t actually wear heels that often, but I really want some classic leopard pumps.

Currently losing my mind over…

  • party madness!  ::  My daughter’s 13th bday was Saturday, along with her party.  We usually have parties somewhere other than the house so that it’s less stressful, but for some reason I was obsessing over what needed to get done.  I think because the party room at the location was plain & barren so I felt the need to bring more decor than just plates & a few balloons.  I didn’t bring a lot, but enough to get me in a tizzy.  I spent Friday night prepping and getting all my stuff organized though, so the next day it all went off without a hitch and she had an great 13th birthday!
(*side note* Ahhhhh!  I am now the mother of a teenager! Where’s the biting your fingernails emoticon?!)

  • wedding madness :: My brother is getting married next weekend and my sister and I are going to put together a candy buffet for the reception.  We’re driving ourselves crazy deciding on candy, decor, containers, etc.  We’ve got most of the candy figured out.  Now we just have to pull it all together!

Currently dreaming of…

  • a clean house.  My house is in more of a disarray than usual since I’ve got a one tracked mind and lately it’s been torn into two trying to focus on the two parties/events.  It’s getting a bit ridiculous.  I had a dream about needing to do the laundry last night.  Because needing to do it in real life isn’t bad enough, I have to DREAM about it not being done too!  Maybe I can get back on track this week since one party is over now.
  • Fall weather and clothing and holidays!  I love Fall.  There’s a nice breeze, it’s not so flippin’ hot, pumpkin spiced lattes are back, and there’s a holiday every month until the end of the year.  By Christmas I’m pretty much over the holidays, but I love October and Halloween.  I’m a little more in love with my fall wardrobe than my summer one too so I need cooler weather to get here soon so I can start wearing all my favorite clothes!

As of now, I could have had a jump start on that clean house, but I chose to completely slack today.  Maybe tomorrow!  😉  Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!
